Silent Appeal

I cannot say
there is knowing in me --
I catch a breeze,
behold a tree;
the sun and clouds color
my mind and the sky,
the tint of haze bringing
electric squiggles to my eye;
and yet sometimes I think
I can feel a heart cry --
I want to rush over
and wipe the tears dry.
When I can't, that hurts
more than anything --
to desert a poor heart
with a broken wing.

An empathetic connection with another soul can be one of the most painful and yet rewarding experiences we can ever have. There are those special times when the saying 'I feel your pain' is so much more than words.

I can say 'there is knowing in you' as it manifests itself repeatedly in your work. If you didn't know you couldn't describe so eloquently! Lovely in it's seeming simplicity. Read your poem "beyond all measure" to a full house in Limerick over the weekend. Though the last poem to be read, was really well received by an audience which included a large number of poets. The American contribution was much appreciated. Thank you once more.

Yes, so true. Thanks for expanding your thoughts.

Regarding the other poem, thank you for taking the trouble to read for me.

Regarding this poem -- If there is any "knowing" in me at all, it's that of a child. I often need things reduced to their simplest, clearest terms in order to grasp them.
